Method

  1. Pressure cook dal with tomato, onion, turmeric and salt for 3 whistles.
  2. Mash the cooked dal well.
  3. In a small pan, heat ghee until hot.
  4. Add cumin seeds, let them sizzle.
  5. Add garlic slices and fry until golden.
  6. Add dried red chillies and fry 30 seconds.
  7. Pour this tadka over the dal.
  8. Add lemon juice and fresh coriander. Serve with rice.
