Crunchy spiral-shaped rice and lentil snack deep fried to golden perfection — a quintessential South Indian festive snack.
Ingredients
2 cups rice flour
1/2 cup urad dal flour
2 tbsp butter
Cumin seeds
Sesame seeds
Asafoetida
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Method
Mix rice flour, urad dal flour, butter, cumin, sesame and asafoetida. Add water to make stiff dough. Press through murukku press into hot oil in spiral shapes. Fry on medium heat until golden and crisp.
