Thin crispy onion fritters in spiced besan batter — the ultimate monsoon tea-time snack.
Ingredients
- 2 onions, thinly sliced
- 1 cup besan
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp ajwain
- Fresh coriander
- Salt
- Oil for frying
Method
- Mix besan with all spices and coriander.
- Add onions and mix well — onions will release moisture.
- Add water sparingly to make thick coating batter.
- Drop spoonfuls into hot oil.
- Fry on medium until golden and crisp.
- Serve hot with chutney and masala chai.
